Moon / Earth Scale

How far is the moon from the earth in this scale model?

To figure the exact scale of this model in feet.

The distance from the earth to the moon is 235,857 miles. So we are going to scale the model down by using 1 inch / 1,ooo miles, which make 12 inches 12,ooo miles. In this calculation it would make our moon in our scale model be 19.9 ft from our earth.

Conclusion: When brought down to scale, the moon was 19.9 ft away from the scaled model of the earth.
